The competitions we cover
The NRL is the strongest club competition in the sport and runs from March to the grand final in October. In England the Super League play-offs decide the title at Old Trafford, with the Championship below it. Above both stands the World Cup, played by nations including Australia, New Zealand, England, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, France, Papua New Guinea, Lebanon and the Cook Islands.
What a match page shows
Open a match and you get the two sides, the full-time score and the half-time score, the competition it belongs to and the kick-off converted to your own time zone. The competition pages group the same matches into live, today, upcoming fixtures and results, so a round can be read from top to bottom without searching.

On the rugby league page. Matches are grouped by competition, with the NRL, the Super League and the World Cup listed first, and each card shows the half-time score alongside the final result.
Rugby league is played with 13 players a side, union with 15. League has no lineouts or rucks and works on a set of six tackles. A try is worth four points in league and five in union, which is why league scorelines read differently.
The National Rugby League is the leading club competition in Australia and New Zealand. The regular season ends in September and is followed by the play-offs, which decide the grand final. Sides such as the Penrith Panthers, the Sydney Roosters, the Newcastle Knights and the New Zealand Warriors appear in the current fixture list.
The Super League is the top professional rugby league competition in England. Its play-offs close the season, with clubs including Wigan Warriors, Leeds, Warrington, Hull KR and Wakefield in the current fixtures.
The World Cup is in the fixture list from 15 October 2026, with the men's and the women's tournament running side by side and matches shown in Nigeria time. The schedule currently reaches to 1 November 2026 and is extended as the organisers confirm further rounds.
